Hi Family!
We let our zone email first yesterday on P-Day, and since there's only a few computers, and a huge zone. We usually try to email last so
everyone gets a chance so we had to wait til today to Email everyone.
But I promise I didn't forget about my wonderful family back home! How
could i? you are everything to me! Oh by the way, before i forget, Did David
and Lindsey ever get my letter i sent back to them? Cuz they wrote me.
This has been a quick week! So much has happened! And its
all kinda blurred together by now, and i have a head ache too. But ill do my
best haha! So on Wednesday we went on Zone Exchange. So All the Sisters and
Elders in the zone met together at the Stake Center on Tuesday night. We had
like all 9 cars in a circle, with the headlights on, and all of us standing in
the middle in the light. Just for the effect, and for fun. Then we read out the
new companionship's, and everyone cheered as we read those! Then we got with our
new companion, and went back home. I went with Elder Miller, he is from
Florida, and is SUPER COOL!! He is in a biking area, so yay i was on a bike all
day. It was actually super fun, besides the extreme butt pain i was
experiencing toward the end of the day. I had a good time and learned a lot
from him. We were biking back home to go to a meeting. And i decided to
suddenly stop and talk to this kid i saw walking. So i slam on my brakes, and
skid to a stop. And I say hi to this guy, he gave me the weirdest look, like i
was a huge creeper. I introduced myself, and who we are. His name is
Shawn, and he is like 15 years old. I asked him if he had ever seen
missionaries before? He said yah, I so i asked him if he knows what we do? And
he was like, do you preach the word? I was like yup, and then shared how we
share messages about Jesus Christ, and how that can bless us and our families.
I asked him if we could pray with him? He said yeah, so we prayed, and then
asked him how he felt? Then we testified that those feelings were the Holy
Ghost, and he can always have those feelings through Baptism. Then asked him if
he would want to be baptized and he said YES!!! he said he has to talk to his
parents first and ask them if its okay, and said to come back tomorrow.
MIRACLE!!!
So we had a bunch of lessons with Madreen this week! She is
so Solid, and so amazing. So Her, and her sons Rocky, and Atrik are going to be
baptized this coming Saturday November 2nd at 3pm. I am so excited, i seriously
want time to just skip forward til 3pm on Saturday, i cant wait!! Every
single lesson we have with her is super powerful and spiritual. Its an amazing
spiritually edifying experience for all of us. Ill send you a picture we took
with the family. But Rocky is 18, and legally blind, Atrik is the sports star and
is 12 years old. Madreen has a 2 year old son Oliver. He is the cutest
little kid, and we have gotten so close to him. He loves us and always wants us
to play with him. He cries when we leave, and is super excited when we come
over. I have gotten so close to this family, I had no idea it was possible. I
would seriously do ANYTHING for this wonderful family. Please continue to pray
for this family, that they will be strong and faithful.
Tonight we actually invited them over to the Kahau family
for Dinner. Because they have a lot of children that are the same age. We had a
huge dinner, and then we shared the Plan of Salvation with everyone. It was
super awesome, everyone was able to fellowship each other, and make new friends
in the ward. And then after our lesson, everyone started sharing their
Testimonies. So it turned into a Testimony meeting, because the Kahau Family
all 6 of them were baptized only like 2 years ago. So the Testimony
Meeting was super spiritual and uplifting and powerful. It was super sick!
So on Saturday we brought our Investigators Memory, Madreen,
Atrik, and Oliver to a Road Show Performance. Memory is in a wheel chair, so we
had front row seats! Road Show was all the Wards in Waipahu, Makakilo, and
Mililani Stake had performances. The Theme was "Imagine
If........" one of the Wards did the Garden of Eden from the Animals
perspective, and had everyone dressed up as Animals, and did dances. Our Ward
did a genie that gave 4 people wishes. Another ward did Jonah and the Whale.
One did Peter Pan and Captain Hook, but Captain hook was the good guy, and
peter pan the villain. It was super awesome and fun.
So Monday night we picked up an Elder Fesola'i from the
Airport. He is a Traveling AP from the Marshal Islands/ Kiribati Mission, Which
in in Micronesia. He was traveling from Marshal Islands to Kiribati to do some
exchanges, but there is no straight flights between those two, so they had to
go through Hawaii. So we got him Monday night, and dropped him off at the
Airport on Tuesday morning at 10:30. He was super cool, he is a Samoan from New
Zealand. And we actually knew a couple of the people who were missionaries.
Love you All, Love Elder Durocher
We
were biking, and took a quick picture break! haha!
