Dear Family,
Here I am again!!!!! I can not believe
that the week has came and gone already!! The days here feel like this,
"Days feel like Weeks and Weeks feel like Days!" It completely feels
that way. I cant believe that Im about a month through my time at the MTC, I
wrote out a calender on the white board in our class room and we have two full
weeks left and a couple days! I have not idea how the time had passed so fast!
There is so much i could talk about but ill stay with the important items of
business.
On Sunday we had a speaker who came and hes a
Polynesian. He played football for BYU and then served his mission in South
Dakota Rapid City. He shared a story from there of someone he converted during
his mission and the guy he converted was on the stand with him. They had just
had a reunion of there families to get in touch again. His name is Via S. don't
know his last name. He served in 84 I believe. It was a good talk telling us
that we need to do all we can to teach and share the gospel. Also Sunday
morning i was made District Leader, and that was awesome to be able to get that
opportunity.
Monday rolled around and we went to the health
clinic at the MTC, to get my companions MRI results. We found out that he had torn
his ACL completely, where it wasn't even attached anymore. We went and talked
to the Doctor more and he said that he could try to hold out and heal at the
MTC or go home. The moment that the doctor said for a 50% ish recovery would
take 3 months, but for a 100% recovery it would take 9 months plus if your
lucky. My companion Elder Paynters face went blank. We left and had to go talk
to one of the Branch Presidents and Elder Paynter decided to go home... this
was at about 3 oclock pm by the time he got all that done. He called his mom
and she lives in Elko Nevada and she drove over and picked him up... We went
back and packed him up and by 8 Pm he was gone.... It has been super hard
because he had developed into the Best friend that i have ever had. Since day
one we were instantly friends due to us both being big guys and playing
football and being from IDAHO!! We got close and he made my time here awesome.
Then another district came in with a Elder whos name is Coby Young. He is also
from Idaho and lives in Soda Springs. Us three were good friends because the
Idaho connection or something but we all became friends. There are three Elders
so far who have entered my heart and i want to get together after our missions
and it was Elder Paynter, Elder Young, and Elder Greenwood. These are great
guys and Elders serving mission. I hate that i was put into a Trio, but im
making the best of things. I will sincerely miss the fat jokes that Elder
Paynter would make toward the skinny Elder Hutchings in our room. E.Hutchings
would walk in and you'd here, "I feel it getting fatter in here", or
"The gravitational pull just shifted toward you." He made everyone
laugh skinny or big. He was and awesome guy who i cant wait to see again. Me
and Elder Young who is from Idaho, have became better friends and i want to get
together with him also when i get back.
The only other thing that happened this
week was on Sunday and Today(Friday). There was a protester on the way to the
temple both days and the had a giant cross, saying a bunch of gibberish. The
message that i got from the Holy Ghost was that, "We are doing what is
right, and that these protesters have no effect/affect on me. I know what I am
doing with my life for Two Years is for our Savior Jesus Christ and he is fueling
the fire that is burning with in my soul that makes me want to help others know
of Christ, and that there is a Gospel and Church on this earth that will bless
your life and lift you up."
That has summed up most of my week. It was hard
to have my Companion leave, but I pray for him every day to have a quick
healing process. The rest of the week.
I love you all with all my heart and I pray
that you will strive to have Faith in Jesus Christ. He loves you and want you
to be happy. Always strive to convert yourself over and over. My biggest
convert to the church will first be me, I can already see the blessing of
becoming more converted in my life. To those of you who dont know what to
believe or have pushed away your beliefs, I challenge you to find them again
and Pray to our Father in Heaven. Do it for me, but most of all do it for
yourself because you deserve to feel the joy that I feel on a daily basis! I
want all to feel the love that I feel from the Savior Jesus Christ. I am being
bold, convert yourself once again unto the Gospel of Jesus Christ
