Dear Family,
I am so richly blessed!
I have the joyous blessing of being a mother to 6 wonderful kids and
their partners who are just as dear to me!
I may have to work backward in the weeks events as today was the day of
all days to be so grateful! I got to church to find the place was packed and
found a spot with the Limbs to the joy of little Ashton. I felt a tap on the shoulder or a presence
nearby, and I turned and looked up to see Michael, Adrienne and Layla standing
there! I'm sure my face and exclamation
of glee was picture worthy, but being near the front of the chapel, I kept
myself from jumping up and down! I was
so happy to see them and have them there with me during the Sacrament meeting
dedicated to Mothers. Thank you Michael
for such a sweet gift. I had studied the
Gospel Doctrine lesson on Joshua and was so delighted that Michael stayed for
my class! I got to introduce him and
Adrienne and made mention that he was my first reward as a parent and made the
most mistakes.....wait did I say that right?
The class laughed, so then I must have said it wrong and corrected my
sentence to thank Michael for being patient with me as I learned to be a parent
with him.
After church Nick and family was already at the house and
soon David soon came. Morgan had just
chimed in with Skype and after about 20 minutes, Annalisa got added and then
Ethan arrived to make it a 4-way Skype!
I'm so grateful to the advancement of technology to be able to do
that! I'm so happy that Ethan and Morgan
got to see each other and swap real-time stories. Of course we all gathered around my computer
so we could all have a turn to talk.
Ethan was most excited about Michaels beard! Haaa!
Poor Hayden seemed to be ailing with the flu so he wasn't in the mood to
hang around the computer. We all stayed
connected for and hour and then a little longer with Morgan. My heart was bursting at the seams. Morgan had sent a Mothers Day package and so
I opened it with him on Skype. Thank you
so much for your thoughtful and generous gifts!
I'll post a picture and explain what the contents were. I so appreciated the gifts from all that came
and Annie showed a wind chime she got on Skype too.
After the reluctant goodbyes to the Skypers, we had
dinner of taco's and stuffing. Not
likely menu companions, but I was in the mood for stuffing and I knew Mike
would like that, and I made black bean salsa that would go best with tacos....
tasty!
I had a group talk with those here thanking them for
coming and being here to talk to the missionaries and for being the wonderful
people they are! It's so important to
treat one's we love with respect and honor and that is what happen here
today.....with a lot of FUN!
I will have the warm fuzzies for a LONG time after
today!!!!
Saturday I learned that Tanya Roylance was having an open
house with her Scentsy business in Springville, so after I did my morning
chores, I drove down to see her and my little R's! Who are not so little! My they have grown and are delightful
people. Rachel and Elli are into string
instruments and gave my a little concerto!
Ben has grown so tall for his 11 years and Tanya and Alex are just as
dear and delightful as ever. It was so
nice to visit and feel the whimsy of the old days.
Friday at work we had a Cinco de Mayo luncheon and it was
a lot of fun with great food. We do that
every year and again in November for the Harvest Lunch. I've been working on invoicing and need to
get it done before leaving for Nevada on Thursday. Annalisa will be driving down on Thursday
morning and we'll head for Nevada after I do payroll at work. We'll come back on Sunday. Heidi will be married in the Reno Temple and
the reception is at Tamies house.
What a terrific family I have. I have wonderful friends too! Have a great week everyone and know that as
stated in Joshua 1: 6-9 "Be strong
and of good courage." We are all
faced with trials, triumphs and temptations.
We have a choice on how to govern our lives and it's so important to
stay strong, true and honorable to the laws of The Lord that he may bless
us. Be wise my children in what you do
with your time, thoughts and talents and value the best people around you, your
family. I used the word 'Clan' today in
a Facebook post. It brought out the
Irish in me but it was perfect as the Durocher, Heller, Jesse, families and all
those connected to them are the strength and backbone to a mighty force for
good and love. I love being a part of
this Clan and for the Eternal Family we can be.
Love, Mom <3 br="">3>
