Dear Family,
This was a pretty fun and busy week!
On Wednesday we had a lot of random things happen to us. Our
mission president randomly came to our District Meeting. We were at the store,
and when we came out we saw Sister Reeds, a recent convert of a few months.
She's the one who her Husband is the Cousin of "The Rock" Dwayne
Johnson, and also the stunt devil for him too. We went over and talked to her.
And we found out that she had just come from the Beach and was surfing and had
an accident. She was in the water, and ran into a Jelly Fish. It wrapped its
tentacle things all around her waist and leg, and stung her really bad. It
scared her really bad and she was freaking out, and grabbed it and pushed it
off of her. Then it came back and and stung her again on the arm and shoulder.
She finally got away and came back to shore. She showed us where the Jelly Fish
stung her and its burned really really bad. Its all burnt and has blisters
everywhere, it looked very painful, and you can clearly see where the jelly
fish touched her. She was headed into the Store to find medicine. We gave her a
blessing right there in the parking lot, and said goodbye.
We start walking down the road, on our way to the Visitor
Center to pick up our dinner-money, The member wanted to give us some money and
then we would just go out to dinner wherever we wanted. And we passed by a
Stand with a kid selling bread. He ran and caught up with us giving us a huge
loaf of freshly baked bread, it was still steaming. It was super delicious.
Then we went to the Visitor Center, got our dinner money, and ended up talking
to a group of people sitting on a bench. We had a fun time talking there, and
then my companion found out he was related to one of the people there. We
went to McDonalds to eat dinner, and a member insisted on Paying for our food
there, so that was a wonderful surprise. As we were leaving we ran into two 10
year old black kids who were trying to carry 2 ice cream cones, 2 drinks, and 2
bags of food home from McDonalds. So we helped them carry their food and walked
them home, cuz it was getting late by this time and we wanted them to be safe.
When we were almost home, a car swerved over and pulled up next to us. And
asked if we had Consecrated Oil for a blessing with us. We said yes, and we
went over to the edge of a parking lot. The Guy was breathing very rapidly and
shallowly. I think he was having a allergic reaction to something, and he
looked really sick and could barely talk, in between his rapid breathing. We
gave him a Blessing, and he immediately relaxed, and his breathing slowed, and
he calmed down. It was an awesome experience to give 2 blessings to people in
need in such a short time span!
On Saturday we visited a former investigator, and shared a
quick message with him, he wants us to come back again, and start teaching him
again. After we left his house we were walking along a road, and 2 girls in a
car pulled over and asked if we could share a scripture with them. They got
outta the car, and we started talking, 1 of them are a member from Honolulu,
and they are both looking for a house to buy over here in Laie. We shared a
scripture with them, and then had a prayer, and got their info, we are gonna start
teaching the girl that's a non member. It was a total miracle to run into them,
and find a new person to teach.
Sunday we had meetings all day, along with church. We
printed of a new ward list since our records we have are like 2 years old. We
went to dinner with the Andersons, who are an awesome family in the Ward who
moved from New York about a year ago. Then we had a second dinner with the
Mauck family. They are going to be baptized this Saturday. 5 of them will be
baptized, and then in august when 1 of the daughters turn 8 years old,
Larry Mauck (the dad) is going to baptize her. We then watched Joseph Smith:
The Prophet of the Restoration with the family. They got teary eyed about what
Joseph Smith had to go through. I'm so grateful for Joseph Smith and all he went
through to give us the Gospel, and to restore Jesus Christs church onto
the earth again. "Joseph Smith has done more for the salvation of men than
any other man, save Jesus only":D&C 135:3; Reading about Joseph Smith and seeing
all he went through has really grown my testimony. He had close friends and
members of the church turn against him, many of his children died, so many mobs
to attack him, driving the saints from place to place, being tarred and
feather, locked in liberty jail for months and months and months, leg surgery
at a young age, and eventually being killed in Carthage Jail. He never
complained and he took it all, and grew stronger through all his trials. I'm so grateful for the strength and help i have received to handle my back
problems, and all the other problems i have. I'm so grateful for the opportunity
i have to serve God with all of my heart, might, mind, and strength for 2 years. I
know the Atonement can strengthen us, along with wash away our sins. I'm so grateful for my Lord Jesus Christ and In the Name of Jesus Christ AMEN.

Oh yeah i forgot to tell you about it, will you include this
in what you put on the blog please?
Last P-Day right after we finished emailing, we were walking
outside back to our car, and an older guy asked if we could help with an Eagle
Scout Service Project. We instantly agreed, and got straight to work. They were
going to make a spot to lock up bikes, so they have poles to lock the bikes up,
and we were going to pour the cement. They had a big cement truck pull in onto
the grass. He poured the cement while we shoveled the cement. Then we smoothed
it out, and evened it out. Then we had to put dirt on the tracks where the
cement truck drove on the tracks, because the tires indented the grass so bad.
Doing everything took between 4-5 hours to do the whole job.
