Fun photos of a 4 wheeling outing to 5 Mile Pass between Lehi and Tooele, Utah
On Saturday Nick, Hayden and Cambree met up with
Morgan, Camrie and I at 5 Mile Pass to go 4 wheeling!(Michelle was at school) It was a blast to have the wind whipping up
and the dry desert had lots of dust. No
matter, the wind pushed it aside pretty well.
At the top of the hillside there were these deep mining pits that were
covered with a grid of re-bar for peoples safety. Morgan threw a rock down and it took almost 5
seconds for it to tap the bottom. He
calculated it to be over 400 feet deep!
One of the shallow holes had what looked like a WWII jeep at the bottom,
by the look of the headlights. One of
the roads had some deep ruts and I had to have both Morgan and Nick rescue me
on two different times to get passed.
One time my whole torso left the seat to the left with a foot off the
side! Yikes! This is why you never ride alone! Nick brought a loaded sub sandwich and we all
shared lunch back at the parking lot.
The kid's were great through it all.
Nicks enclosed trailer was sure nice!
Thanks Nick for the great idea!

Ethan's 12th / 2015 Letter/photos Carmen de Patagones 3-23-15
Dear Family,
First of all I want my mother
Sara Vernalee Durocher to know, something about her son Elder Ethan Charles
Durocher.
Mom I am truly happy
as a Missionary of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I just wanted my
mom to know that! This work is hard and being a missionary is a different experience but i am truly happy. There is no other thing better that i could be
doing in this moment in time then this as a Missionary. Everyday there are
blessing that the Lord gives to me and those with whom we speak. I am grateful
that I have the opportunity to share this message of joy and eternal happiness
with all the people that we meet. My mother once asked me, "Ethan do you
know that difference in between the word to be Happy and to have Joy?" I don't remember what i said to her, probably something like " there is no
difference" What she then told me is something I have shared with the
people of Argentina throughout my whole mission. She said," To be happy
is something that comes and goes and is temporal, but to have Joy is something
Eternal and that only comes from God through doing what he asks us to do."
This has impacted me throughout all my mission and pre-mission. Thanks Mom for
your wise words.
In the week i got
the blessing of offering service to someone, and finding people, not only
people but a family to teach. A man pulled up to a house and was trying to
unload a Refrigerator from a trailer and i offered to help him and he
accepted. Afterwords he left because he just delivered the fridge but we
presented ourselves to the family that lived in the house where i carried the
fridge. Its a single mother with 2 daughters 17 years old and 14 years old, and
a son that's 5 years old. They are super awesome and are willing to talk with us
and hear the message of the Restoration. Pray for them, Analia, Camila,
Milagros, and Benjamin.
Saturday our investigator Damian Manquelef who is 77 years old was baptized!!! He asked me
to baptized him, and i said with honor i would love to do it. We have been so
blessed to find people who are prepared to hear the gospel and who are able to
be baptized. Sunday we was confirmed and after the Sacrament meeting he asked
us, "alright where or what do i have to do to pay my Tithing?" He is
such an example to me.
That was the week of
events, please pray that Nicolas Gomez can feel the need to be baptized March
28th 2015.
I love you all!!!
Con Amor,
Elder Ethan C. Durocher

Dear Family,
These are the shoes that Ruben C. gave to Elder Ethan from the last letter of news! Thank you so much Ruben!
I finally go to
my area Monday at like 5pm and i got unpacked and showered and ready to work,
at 6:15 pm we were out the door to go to work. We passed by for a lot of the investigators that we have and the members during the week. We passed by and
talked to the Mother of a 9 year old boy who had been going to church for
months but the mother would let him get baptized. We talked with her for a
little bit and she gave him permission. He got super excited and then asked me to
baptized him because for some reason... haha
Saturday morning we did service for some
member, we dung like a 20 foot trench about 1 foot wide 2 feet deep, and i just
went at it like a mad man!! haha I just started giving it my all and my Latin
companion and the members just were stunned as i got it done super fast! haha.
That's just how Durocher's work, effectively, with diligence. I got one blister but
i so enjoyed manual labor, id love to talk to Dave Wilkinson and see if he can
help me out with a job, i miss working with my hands. Anyway we finished that
and then we went to the church and we had to drain the Baptismal Faunt from two
weeks back, my companion said that the Pump was broken that sucks the water
out, so i went over and looked at a couple things and primed the pump and it
worked!!! haha it took about 45 minutes to suck out all the
water, and then we cleaned it and then filled it up. We left and came back like
2 hours later and there was enough water. We prepared every thing
and Alexis Castro showed up and the members so we went and changed. Alexis went
to the water and felt if it was warm and it was, then we went and started the
Baptismal Service. 15 minutes later we went to baptize him and i
stopped to show him what we have to do, like bend his knees and everything. My
companion comes running over and says THERE IS NO WATER IN THE BAPTISMAL
FAUNT!! I run over and look and it was completely DRY! He said that he open the
door up where everyone can see and he saw a foot of water and in seconds
it vanished!
That's was our
challenge this weekend!!! we hurrying and found out that the pump was on again
and it worked with out being primed like it normally hast to, and the water was
drained in 15 minutes instead of 45 minutes like in the morning!
We were shocked! we waited for like 30 minutes and baptized him in like 2 feet
of water! haha it was a great day! he was confirmed Sunday. We worked a lot and
we got a lot of people to accept the invitation to be baptized so we should be
able to baptize every weekend this month!
That was the miracle
this week!! I love you all!!!
Con Amor,
Elder Ethan C. Durocher
