Dear Family,
Alma 28
14 And thus we see the great call of diligence of men to laborin the vineyards of the Lord; and thus
we see the great reason of sorrow, and also of rejoicing sorrow because of death and
destruction among men, and joy because of the light of Christ unto life.
Alma 29
10 And behold, when I see many of my brethren trulypenitent, and coming to the Lord their God,
then is my soul-filled with joy; then do I remember what the Lord has done for me, yea, even that he hath heard my prayer; yea, then do I
remember his merciful arm which he extended towards me.
13 Yea, and that same God did establish his church among them; yea, and that same God hath called me by a holy calling,to preach the word unto this people,
and hath given me much success, in the which my joy is full.
These
are some scriptures that I really enjoyed this week as I was studying the Book
of Mormon. The text is a little weird with the spacing but look for them in the
scriptures instead of reading it from my letter. I am so grateful for all that
God has done for me. He has blessed me so much!!
How to start this story.... When I was with Elder Hansen months back we
were teaching the Mother of Micaela who is a recent convert in the
church, Her Moms name is Ana Julia Otarola
, we
taught her a couple times but wasn't progressing all that much so we drop her
and stopped teaching her, but of course every time I have seen her in the last 6
months I have always been super nice and talked to her. The Sister Missionaries
started teaching her shortly after we had dropped her and it was the same
story. Once she got super close to being baptized and then she didn't want to
because she is super Catholic... then we didn't see her for a month or more.
Then Sunday Micaela asked us to pass by for her mom that night and talk to her,
so we put it in our plans. We got to our house after lunch and we were getting
changed to leave and work and the phone rang. The Sister Missionaries called me
saying they had just ate with Micaela and her Mom and her Mom decided to be
Baptized Saturday, February 14th..... I was super excited for her. Then the
next thing she said was this, "but She wants and has wanted you to be the
one the Baptize her!" I could not stop smiling due to this great Honor to
baptized this women! and that is what happened, I baptized this women Saturday!
Saturday night we did a Family Home Evening type thing with our Investigator Daniela. Mom had sent me to packets of Taco Seasoning that I
had not had the opportunity to use, so we made Home Made Tacos with her!! She
had lived in the Utah for 3 months and loved the food there, so she enjoyed the
Tacos! That was a great experience, I don't have pictures yet but i should get
some from her soon. That was what happened this week!
Thanks
for all that you do!!! I love you all very much!!!
Con
Amor,
Elder
Ethan C. Durocher
