Dear Family,
First of all I want my mother
Sara Vernalee Durocher to know, something about her son Elder Ethan Charles
Durocher.
Mom I am truly happy
as a Missionary of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I just wanted my
mom to know that! This work is hard and being a missionary is a different experience but i am truly happy. There is no other thing better that i could be
doing in this moment in time then this as a Missionary. Everyday there are
blessing that the Lord gives to me and those with whom we speak. I am grateful
that I have the opportunity to share this message of joy and eternal happiness
with all the people that we meet. My mother once asked me, "Ethan do you
know that difference in between the word to be Happy and to have Joy?" I don't remember what i said to her, probably something like " there is no
difference" What she then told me is something I have shared with the
people of Argentina throughout my whole mission. She said," To be happy
is something that comes and goes and is temporal, but to have Joy is something
Eternal and that only comes from God through doing what he asks us to do."
This has impacted me throughout all my mission and pre-mission. Thanks Mom for
your wise words.
In the week i got
the blessing of offering service to someone, and finding people, not only
people but a family to teach. A man pulled up to a house and was trying to
unload a Refrigerator from a trailer and i offered to help him and he
accepted. Afterwords he left because he just delivered the fridge but we
presented ourselves to the family that lived in the house where i carried the
fridge. Its a single mother with 2 daughters 17 years old and 14 years old, and
a son that's 5 years old. They are super awesome and are willing to talk with us
and hear the message of the Restoration. Pray for them, Analia, Camila,
Milagros, and Benjamin.
Saturday our investigator Damian Manquelef who is 77 years old was baptized!!! He asked me
to baptized him, and i said with honor i would love to do it. We have been so
blessed to find people who are prepared to hear the gospel and who are able to
be baptized. Sunday we was confirmed and after the Sacrament meeting he asked
us, "alright where or what do i have to do to pay my Tithing?" He is
such an example to me.
That was the week of
events, please pray that Nicolas Gomez can feel the need to be baptized March
28th 2015.
I love you all!!!
Con Amor,
Elder Ethan C. Durocher
