Morgan Letter & Photos 21 / 2014 Wahiawa, Oahu, Hawaii June 2, 2014

Dear Family!
Me and Elder Morco have had an amazing week of missionary work. We had tons of success this week, teaching people, and tracting and everything else. We had a cool experience with Lindsey and Dom. They are our investigator family. They had their friend Olivia and Us come over for dinner. So we had a nice dinner, it was really weird because it was like normal white person sized portions. Im used to members loading my plate so full, that its heaping, and i cant even see the plate anymore. Then they give me a second or third plate of food to eat. So it was nice for a change up, to eat a normal amount of food. But that wasn't the best pa! rt of the visit. We taught them the Plan of Salvation. Dom grew up in Catholic school, so he knew a lot about the Bible, so he had lots of good questions. The lesson went amazing! It was a different kind of lesson though. The two little 2 year old girls were going crazy! They were screaming, fighting, kicking, yelling, playing, running, crying, whining, and everything thing else they could possibly do to distract the Parents in the Lesson. But we made it through pretty good. I noticed a couple of times that while i was bearing my sincere testimony on a part of the Plan, that it would get deathly quiet, something hushed the kids for 10-15 seconds. The spirit came super duper strong, and bore witness of the Truth. It was cool how it happen, we committed them to Baptism, and Lindsey said she wants to get baptized! Dom has some questions/concerns, but said it is a possibility.

Then we had another cool experience on Sunday. We were visiting an investigator named Paula. We stopped by while she was playing with her dogs in the front yard, and we started talking to her. Then we shared a message about the Book of Mormon, i was going through the pictures that are in the front of the Pros- Book of Mormon, that explains the whole story of the Book of Mormon. As i was talking about the Pictures, A man came out of her house, and he was angry. He started swearing at us and told us to go away, he told Paula that we are teaching her a bunch of lies to make her join our Colt. He said some of the most profane things i have ever heard. Paula told him to go back inside. So he goes in for like 2 minutes, and runs back out yelling at us and telling us he is going to fight us. Then Paula tells him to calm down and go away. He came out like 4-5 times just screaming and swearing at us. Every time he left we jumped straight back into the lesson on the Book of Mormon. As we were talking about the Book the most peaceful feelings were there. But as the guy came out swearing it all just went away. It was totally a black and white difference of the Spirit being there, and it not being there. We finished our lesson, and headed somewhere else. I was wondering why that had to happen, then i thought maybe it was a good learning experience for Paula. So that she could feel the spirit, and know the good feelings that come when we are there. So hopefully it was good for her, and hopefully Paula saw how we didn't react or get mad, but kept our cool and had the Spirit.

So we visit a less active family every single Friday, the Clifton family. They have a grandson that just pertinently moved in with them this last week. He is 12 years old, his name is LG and he hasn't got baptized. He really wants to get baptized, and his Grandparents want him baptized too! So we had a quick message and prayer with them. Then they came to church!! It was the first time the Grandparents have come for a really long time!! It was really exciting, so now we are gonna start teaching LG!

Love you all so much, Have a great week!

I got the letter from President Werner today and was excited to read about his thoughts about you and your service. Good job !

From the itinerary it looks like you will have a night flight from Honolulu, leaving at nearly 9pm, arriving in SLC at 7:11am!
Wow Cool! You left August 1st and come back August 1st!  You know I'll be there!

Ethan Letter 21 / 2014 - Viedma, Argentina June 2, 2014

Not much happened this week... We had a conference this week with Presidente Parreño and it was a really good conference. he talked about Fountains of Power
-Unity -Focus -Determination - Faith
These are the four fountains of power that we have and if we are using all of them and give all our power to use them it will power our Goals that we have. That if we dont have one it hurts us in our missionary work. I really liked the conference and i had learned a lot.
Now to the topic of this email

, Power in Testifying!
We were talking to a lady Gladus of is Evangelical and she believes that she has the Priesthood Authority to baptize, to cast out devils, to do miracles, etc.. She said that her church was true and that we are crap, that our church isn't anything that it fake, and that what we do as missionaries is good but we are cheating and lying to the people.

Then as we were talking after she said that, another women from the house just next door, its like an apartment building so the door was less then 10 feet away. She came out and starting bashing on us and telling us that we are wrong and from Man the we aren't of God that we follow a man Joseph (Smith) and that we are completely of the Devil, etc etc etc... She was saying things like that....
I then stopped them both from talking, the only way to stop someone is to talk louder then them. I began to declare and testify of the Authority that we have, that we are Missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ, That we are Representative of Jesus Christ himself, that was we say is the truth as if it came from the mouth of Jesus Christ himself. That we have been called and sent to declare The Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world, that we hold the Holy Priesthood of God! We have been ordained of God and we hold his power. We are her to invite people unto Christ, and that is what we are doing.

I then invited Gladus to pray about our message and left her with that invitation as it says in D&C 121:43 after you chastise show and increase in Love and that's what we did.
Waking away, about a minute later my companion told me that he felt the spirit so strong, that NORMALLY my spiritual voice is a softer voice and he felt the spirit with that, normally. He then said that he was wrong and that I have two types of Spiritual Voices, and that soft voice was not the one he just heard. He said as it says in the Book of Mormon in (Mosiah 27:11&15 and Alma 29:1-2) is what he heard leave my mouth in that moment. He said it was as Angel´s had been testifying to these two women and is was as the sound of a trumpet, it was a loud firm voice that Declared who we are and testified of our message.
then i went to tell him after i had stopped talking and as we were leaving my knees were shaking and my whole body was physically exhausted and i was about to fall....

That is what had happened during this week..... I know the church is True!!! love you all!!!

Mom Letter with Davids Pictures! June 1, 2014

Hello Elders & Family,
As I wrote a lengthy caption of our camping trip a few days ago, I'll opt for a short letter here as the missionary time is limited.
Staff at my work has experienced an upset as one of our Project Managers, Naarah Mount, announced a month ago she was leaving.  To her credit she stayed 4 weeks so a replacement could be found, but with this position, hiring people takes time to get the right person.  We've interviewed 3 fellows, but not sure about who is the right fit.  Naarah starts her new job tomorrow.  Trouble was she was 'poached' from another business with the lure of money and position.  I hope it all works out for her.

After a morning of home chores and an errand for David to pick up some tires in Pleasant Grove, I came home to finish yard work.  I heard the door bell and looked out to see the backside of a fellow with a backpack and assumed he was a solicitor.  My neighborhood gets so many of them I just don't answer the door.  He knocked and rang again, and I peeked out to check again.  Nope, I'm not answering.  I watched him hang his head and walk to the East, still I could not see his face.  Then I got a side glimpse and I ran for the door!  "Zack Davenport," I yelled from the door!  He turned and was glad I called after him.  Apparently he had his mission report in our ward last Sunday, Memorial weekend, and I was camping so didn't know.  I invited him in and we talked a while.  He looked good and I should have gotten a picture....daaa.!  He's sporting a mustache and a goatee!  He got back from his mission in late April and wanted to report to our ward as his parents moved to Highland.  He served in New York City as a ASL missionary! (American Sign Language)  He's got a job and will be attending UVU in the fall.  Sweet huh!

So on Lesson Sundays, I learn and absorb the gospel message which is a true testament to the fact that when we study the scriptures, we are edified and aided in our spirituality.  When we do not, our minds wander to the trifle things of the world, and our focus is altered on what is really important.  LOVE is #1.  Family #2. Service #3.  ..... the list could go on, but essentially, what is most important to me, is an understanding of the Atonement, the Love our Savior has for us, and the Family Unit.  My lesson was on Ruth and Naomi in the Old Testament.  Its a beautiful story of a Mother loving her two daughter-in-laws after the 3 of them were left widows.  It's a story of respect, honor and virtue and then conversion to the gospel.  There are only 2 books in the entire standard works that are named after women.  Ruth and Ester, both in the OT.

Have a great week Elders and know that all is well here.
Love Mom.  <3 p="">

David sent me a photo on Saturday and said.  "This one is for Ethan!"  I'm going to have to go there someday as the photo is spectacular!
