Ethan's 2nd Letter of 2015 - Nechochea, Argentina 1-12-15

Dear Family,
It was such a great experience to be able to help the Laguna Family arrive to the waters of Baptism! It every way, shape, and form it was a Miracle how we met them. We contacted Cintia(the mom) in the street and she told us that she was a member, but hadn’t gone in 17 years. Now she’s 30 years old, so most her life. She told us that she would like to have her kids go to church and learn of God. So we made an appointment for a different day and we passed by. We then found Debora(sister of Cintia) in the house of Cintia and we made an appointment to pass by for them a different day. We pass by and we had forgotten who Debora was and we passed by like an hour late do to other things that made us super behind. We pass by and they were all waiting for us! we couldn’t belief that we forgot about this family. and 4 weeks later they are now all Baptized and members of the only true church on the Earth!!
The only thing that I can say, Jesus Christ lives and want his children to Return to him and his Father. They have prepared the way to return to them, we just have to Keep our Covenants and Honor them in all moments!
I hope that you all have a great week!!
Con Amor,

Elder Ethan C. Durocher!

Dear Family - The Power of Prayer
Its crazy how the power of prayer works, Saturday Morning i was studying in Chapter 4 of Preach My Gospel, its about How to Recognize the Spirit. I read a part mainly on that and so I ask the Lord in a prayer to help recognize the Spirit in my life....and this is how he answered.l
All that day I felt completely Alone! I don't think I have felt so alone before, I had my companion right by me but I felt super Alone. When I was walking I felt alone, when I was talking I felt alone, when I was teaching I felt alone....and other things. I couldn't do anything almost all Saturday, I felt usless the whole day. Normally when I did the things during the day I felt that the words had just flowed out of my mouth, that I didnt need to think because the words just came, and it was the same with where we went while walking. This Saturday was different then all the rest. I was praying the whole time to know why i was feeling that way.
It was like that Until i got to church on Sunday, and about the same time it started Saturday morning in ended, and as it ended I was taking to Sacrament. The Sacrament has become very Sacred for me. Like i said the feeling went away and i felt a huge comfort. Then i went to bare my Testimony in Sacrament Meeting, as i started talking i realized i was back to my normal self. The words that I said came to me through the Power of the Holy Ghost and God answered my prays.
The First Answer was that he helped me know it what way the Spirit helps me in life and how i can recognize it. It was so present in my life, especially as Missionary that the only way to help know how to recognize the Spirit was to take its Assistance or help away for a time period so that i could see the difference.
The Second Answer was through giving my Testimony in Church i realized why I had felt like that all day, God was just giving me the Answer to a prayer.
The Third Answer was in Sacrament Meeting 20 minutes after starting, I prayed to help me know if the Lagoona Family is coming or what i need to do to help them get to church. I ended my prayer, and then seconds later my phone starts to Vibrate and it was the Lagoona Family. I leave the meeting to answer it, and she tells me that there about to arrive!!!! God Loves us so MUCH!!!!!
The Fourth Answer was that we were praying the Ruben and his Daughter Magdalena would be able to get to church for a least a part, and the Last 20 minutes of Church when we were in Priesthood, Ruben walks in the Door!!! His meeting for work had ended early and he got to church!!!!!!
God has been answering my prayers and so many Miracles are so present in my life. I am so Grateful for all that he has done for me and is doing and will do! I know that with these experiences he was answering my prayers about how i can recognize the Spirit in my life, and other things that are more personal. The Mission is changing and molding me into the Man that God wants Me to be, and I know that this is the case.
I love you all so much!!!!

Ethan's 51st Letter of 2014 - Nechochea, Argentina 12-29-14

Like i told my family over Skype, that Dalton was going to be born , then mike was going to get married the 26th, and Morgan and Camrie were going to get Married and Sealed FOREVER, and We got to BAPTIZE!!!!! the 27th!!! It was such a miracle how everything happen. I am so thankful for all the the Lord has done for me in my mission, i have gotten to experience the Atonement of Jesus Christ through out ALL of my Mission.
I was hearing a Conference Talk from Elder Jeffery R. Holland, and he was talking about the part with Jesus talking to Peter saying,
    Peter Do you love me?
       Peter Do you love me??
         Peter Do You Love Me???

That made me think a lot about my love for the Savior, do I love him? I am trying to show him the best I can how much I love him. Thats what the mission helps me understand, my love for the Savior depends in how much I work, how much I give to him in every moment, if I am willing to drop everything and give him everthing. I challenge everyone to Love the Savior, by keeping his commandments.
Some good scriptures I read today,
Mosiah 23:14   pick wisely in our friendships, etc.
23:21-24  He loves us so much he challenges us so that we grow.
             24:10-16   He will lighten trials
24:23     God helps those who help themselves.
I love you all so much!!!
Con Amor,

Well im not going to write very much because we will be talking in 3 days.
Transfers came and Elder Hansen was sent to BahĂa Blanca, and my new companions name is Elder Bosco, from Provo Utah. Hes a really awesome Elder. This is his second area in the mission and his fifth transfer in total.
At church the Lagoona Familia arrived, with a friend of the Mom Nataly. Nataly accepted a baptismal date and so we are planning for 7 baptisms for January 10th so pray for them.

I am so glad to have the chance to be in the mission for another Christmas, I have come to be so much closer the our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the last moments of my life, then i had ever done before my mission. Christ has become a Hero in my life, he has carried me through so many different moment in my mission when i couldn't continue on myself. I have found myself looking pray and wondering how I had passed those moments in my mission, and how the time passed so fast. Then i get to where i realize that Christ was carrying me and helping me be able to pass through the challenges. I am so grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the great Sacrifice, he Atone and died for us so that we can Live! I will be forever grateful for what he has done for me and even more for what he has done for my Family and Friends in the sum of my mission. He is there fore all of us!
I love you all so so so so much!!!
see ya later or in 3 days face to face!!!

Ethans 49th Letter - Nechochea, Argentina 12-15-14

Dear Family,

Alright a pretty amazing things happened to Elder Hansen and I, We were working and we had plans to contact people, knock on doors, etc... So we started working and talking with people, and i got the feeling to go down a road, and then to just keep following it. We had never gone so far in this direction, and we entered into a road with open fields around it, the we got to the Street 91(here the streets are all numbers). We turned because we had to and I felt to turn right and we went and then we knocked on the first house that we saw. We see a house finally, and we go up to it to knock. There was a Mother (65 years old ish) and he younger son outside of the house. We started talking to them, and there dog that was tied up started to bark, so i went and played with it for a couple seconds and then I look to the back yard and saw Rottweiler puppies. I said, " how cute, rottweiler puppies" and the son leaned over and was about to say something as the Mom Rottweiler came around to corner off its chain. They started Freaking out!!! haha He grabbed a broom, and told us to get into the house. We heard him yelling at the dog so that it would go back to the backyard, as if it was a murderer type dog... haha Then he calld a 19 year old little girl Camilia to come and chain the dog back up, because the dog only likes her. hahah it was funny. but back to the spiritual part, after all this we start talking with the them and the mother said that her husband had lung cancer and just got his lung taken out in surgery. Right after she said that, my Companion fastly said, " we can give him a blessing like Christ gave to the people." She got emotion and said she would ask her husband, he said he would like that a lot. So we gave him a Priesthood Blessing from God, and now hes doing a lot better! They said they will go to church when he gets feeling better.
This was an answer to my prayers, when i was asking how to become a worthy priesthood holder who can follow and notice the promptings of the Spirit. Yeah the Spirit guided us to find this man to give him a blessing, i know that we can hear and follow the Spirit, we just have to Listen and act on what we hear. After we act, we will know if it was a prompting from the Holy Ghost.
Yeah we were walking in the street right after this amazing experience and we were heading back to the house to get home in time, and my companion and a huge craving for Toddy(its like chips ahoy or chocolate chip cookies) So we were on the way home and the Wind picked up and was super super strong, it was throwing dirt all over the place! Then a down pouring of Rain came.... and we got soaked!! haha It was a super wind slash rain storm. I asked my companion," Do you sill want Toddy?" and he said "Yup!" haha so we took like 5 mintues extra to go and get him his cookies. We got to the house and we notice we had two missed calls, I call the number back and its our Investigator MailĂ©n, she was asking if we were okay because apparently this storm was doing some major damage. It ripped the roofs off houses, threw down power lines, and knock over hugest trees or twisted huge branches and ripped them off..... hahah and we were in the street for all of that and we had no idea it was such a bad storm... just two Missionaries who wanted Cookies.... hahaha The Savior is always protecting us!(dont worry Mom!)
Also we came to find out that we are friends with all the dangerous people! haha its kinds of funny, one of the guys we know is a always on drugs. the first day we met him he yelled at us about some guy named Smith( Joseph Smith) and then the next time he was still drugged and apologized for what he had done. We have always found him on drugs, so we can talk all that much with him, but He say that we are his friend and hes got our back and he showed us a gun he has hidden under his shirt. like i said before dont freak out mom(or anyone else), I tell you these things so that you know that the Lord is protecting us so much! and we are safe. even though we are friends with all the theifs. haha

In the Week we found a two less active sisters, Debura with 3 kids and Cintia with 4 kids, and the all the kids need to be baptized! all but 2 of the kids showed up at church with Debura and loved it! I so hope that i stay in this area to see them enter the Waters of Baptism! Also we had 2 others investigators show up and it was a miracle!!! We had 5 Investigators in the church!

WHAT AN AMAZING WEEK!!!!
The Lord is protecting us always, and he is there! I love you all!
Con Amor,
Elder Ethan C. Durocher!
