Dear Family,
Today is our P-Day, so I may
not have as much to write due to that but next week hopefully ill have more.
Well after you dropped me off I headed with my host and got all checked in. I
got all the needed items like name tag, information, room number, companions
name, books. I then headed to our room where i was able to claim king of the
hill and take my thrown on the lower bunk next to the AC unit! I didn't unpack till
later in the night. We then headed of to my classroom, then asked to go
to another room where i was asked to watch this video, that has the break
down of the MTC or CCM in Spanish. At the end of the Video my companion showed
up and i helped him with the video login what not. then i went back to the
classroom, and my teacher has only spoke in Spanish and he started saying stuff
and i picked out the Spanish word for companion. Apparently I had already broke
the rules because i left my companion so i had to hurry back and go wait till
my companion was done.
My companions name is Elder
Paynter, he is from IDAHO FALLS, ID!! Small world right!? So we had that in
common because i was born in Idaho Falls. Later i found out that he played
football to so we were able to talk about that. It humbling know that i was
able to be companions with him because we get along great. hes a linemen size
elder too, but I'm still quite a bit taller and broader. After we were in
class, we went to a meeting with half of all the new missionaries. that
explained more about the CCM we went to dinner and had a decent meal. the food
here is good food, but doesn't sit well for any ones stomachs, but its
like a big fast food type place or a school lunch place, but the foods better
here. I'm trying not to eat a lot because i didn't want to have more food=sick
stomach.
We went to a meeting where we were
broke up into three large groups and then were given an investigator that we
were supposed to teach. so it was like 60 against 1 "investigator."
Even though hes actually a member. Not everyone spoke but with the first
investigator we had we experienced an amazing spirit from all the missionaries
in this room.
Our investigators name was Jose, he was a
quiet Hispanic guy who was here with his wife and kids. he was from Guatemala.
at least that was his story he was acting. But there was a moment when this
Hermana stood up and she asked him about pray. He really bit hard on it and
we said a prayer and he asked if we could pray for his family. After the
pray he was actually in tears and almost forgot he was "acting" as a
investigator. The spirit was so strong!
that night i couldn't fall asleep
till 2AM!!! that kinda ruffled my feathers because we had to
be up at 6:30 am.
The next day so Thursday. we got up
and got ready. We had study time and then we went to a People
& Purpose meeting where we got to see videos of two investigators lives.
that was pretty cool. In class time we learn how to say our testimony's with some
help of a book. they sound pretty rough but its something. after class we had
dinner, and then we went back to class. we met with our branch president and
interviewed with them and got to know the bishop brick of our zone. He told us
our assignment and i am the SC or Senior Companion! that's pretty awesome.
My time is up but I love you all and have to go.
