Aloha Family,
We had a really good week. So on Thursday we had 2
appointments at 5pm, so we had to go on Splits with the Keei Elders. We had
dinner with 2 widows in the Ward, Sister Chang and Sister Basque. So Elder
Moala went with Elder Goodman to the dinner appointment, while i went to a
Wedding with Elder Willis. The Wedding was for a member in the Ward, Sister
Belinda Willis. I have gotten super close to her whole family these last 5
months here. So it was a really cool wedding, because it was on the Beach. It
was at Honokahau Bay. It was super cool, there was about 30 members of our
ward, plus our Bishop was their too. Bishop Walters did the marriage. All the
girls were dressed in a white dress. and all the Boys were in Tan Pants, And a
white shirt. No shoes, no tie, and shirt un-tucked. It was pretty sweet. During
the Marriage Ceremony and the Vows i really felt the spirit strongly.
Testifying that this was a good thing happening, and how important marriage is
to our Heavenly Father. Afterwards we switched back to our normal companion and
we went to another dinner with a Part-Member Family, the Salvador Ohana. We
read part of a chapter out of Nephi. We went around in a circle having everyone
read a verse, and then talk about whats happening in the story. Then reviewed
with them where the Book of Mormon came from. Then we had a delicious dinner
with the whole family, and then played with the kids for a while and headed
home.
Saturday we went to a Baptism that Keei Elders were my talk
was gonna be on Baptism.. We went early to help the Elders get everything
ready. The Baptismal Font is outside of the Church, its an outdoors one. So we
were boiling water, and getting hot water from the sink, so that the font water
wasnt freezing cold. The baptism started at 9Am, and Elder Goodman asked if i
was ready for my talk on the Holy Ghost? I was like what, mines on Baptism, you
got Holy Ghost. The Program said i was on Holy Ghost. When your a missionary
your used to doing things right on the spot. So i thought of a few scriptures, and
experiences to share. And it turned out awesome, the Spirit was most definitely
their helping guide my words and thoughts. President came to do Interviews, he
does them every 3 months with every missionary. President thanked me for doing
such a wonderful Job Training Elder Moala. And told me that lots of Members of
our Ward have talked to him, saying how great of a missionary i have been in
their Ward. He said the Senior Couple missionary the Guinns, in their interview
with him, were saying how great of a teacher i am, and a wonderful Missionary.
President Told me i have been a great strength to the Hawaii Honolulu Mission,
and is so grateful for my example. It was really an amazing interview, and to
hear him say those things to me. I'm so grateful, he is such amazing
person.
Sunday was another amazing day!! So we have been working
with a Less- Active Member, her name is Laura. She joined the church in Mexico
6 years ago, moved to Hawaii, and was scared to come to church, cuz her English
was so bad. So she just never came. We tracted into her, and she told us she
had been praying for Elders to knock on her door. She was so happy to see her,
we have been teaching her and her kids every week. She has a 3 year old
daughter, and a 2 month old baby, that have not been blessed. So she asked us
to give them their baby blessing. I gave the Baby Blessing for the 2 month old
baby, Demian. It was the first time i have ever done a baby blessing, but it
was an amazing experience. I really felt wonderful to have that opportunity to
do that. I felt a sacred honor and trust from Laura and our Heavenly Father, to
perform the blessing for a beautiful baby boy. Afterwards, Elder Moala did the
baby Blessing for Daphnee, the 3 year old girl. He gave a beautiful Blessing.
Then another Member blessed their baby, so we had 3 baby blessings that day.
Thursday We went to a members house for dinner, and
also to teach their 8 year old daughter a lesson on Baptism. She is so smart,
she already knew everything. Then we had dinner with the family, and played
games with Eden, and her 2 brothers. We made a tower out of Uno Cards. Did you
get the picture from them Mom? Then yesterday On Sunday afternoon, was Eden's
Baptism. They asked if i would give the talk on Baptism, because the speaker
fell through. Good thing i had already prepared a talk on Baptism, that I didn't
get to use yesterday :) So i gave the talk on Baptism, and showed them a object
lesson on Baptism. Then she was baptized, its always so amazing to witness a
baptism. Then Me and Elder Moala gave the Missionary Moment, we taught the
Restoration to the whole group, something our Mission President asked us to do
at baptisms. The spirit was so strong. Then we went to our Dinner with
the Flanders. Then after that went to Edens Baptism Party, and had more
delicious food!
This has been an amazing week here in Hawaii! Thanks for
