Dear Family,
I hope that i have enough time
to convey all of the things that happened this week.
On Tuesday we had
our Christmas Conference, they broke our mission up and did 3 or 4 different Christmas parties because we have upward to 250 missionaries in our mission and
it spans over a huge area. So we had all of Santa Rosa and Trainky Louky. I
know i spelled that wrong but it sounds kind like that. We all met and we sang
in the Plaza in Santa Rosa and in an old folks home. It was really fun, but
after i could hardly talk, let alone sing, and later that night we went back to
the plaza or park in the center of the city to sing again. So yeah that was
fun. We had a Talk by Presidente Parreño and it was really good. Then i got a
letter from Mom, thanks for that letter mom!
We have been working
hard in my area for three and a half months and haven't had much such success...
But these last two weeks, Heavenly Father has poured out the blessing for me
and my companion. In the past two weeks we have found 28 NEW
INVESTAGATORESÑ!!!! 17 this last week and 11 the week before in total 28! I
know that they all probably wont progress but they have had the
"Seed" of the gospel planted so it can start to grow. That is such a
Miracle and blessing to have the lord bless us with people we can teach.
Sunday we decided to go
to church a little early and we were waiting and a husband and wife showed up
in nice but normal clothes. They pulled up, parked there car and walked up to
the church doors and us waiting outside. We started talking thinking that they
were investigators of the other Elder in our area. and NOPE!! they just showed
up because the moved into the area and a friend said they should go to church.
We have a lesson with them tonight and I am so excited to share the
gospel with them. That was A MIRACLE FOR ME!
We were working in
an area a couple days ago and passed by a short small street called a passage
here. There was an old lady sitting out side on a chair, enjoying the sun or
something. We said hI and she started talking to us, even though we were on the
other side of the road. We went up to here and talked some more and she said we
could pass by another day. So yesterday we passed by and had a lesson with her,
and before the lesson we were trying to get to know her. And she stops and
looks at me and says... You have really beautiful eyes... (and shes like
70+ in age) i said thank you and she said it again, to make sure i knew that i
had beautiful eyes. Then we started talking to get to know her more and then
she stopped and was reaching her arm toward me as i was writing something down
and as she was reaching toward me she asked if she could touch my hair(which
now has grown out about and inch or more) and i said "sure??) and she
touches my hair and feels it, and was like " you have really beautiful
hair" haha That was really awesome. After things got spiritual again we
taught the plan of salvation to her. She has a nephew pass away. After we
invited her to be baptized and she said she wasn't sure. We testified of the
truth of our message and of the importance of baptism. She was upset because we
made her sad and cry(but in a good way) She asked why she was crying and we
said it was the spirit testifying of the truth of our message. We ended with a
pray and asked for some water because it was SO hot. And after a couple minutes
she asked why she was still crying and sad and why there is this weird feeling
in here chest that is developing... We were in SHOCK! we testified again and
with more power that this feeling was the spirit and shared Galatians 5: 21-22
and said it is the Spirit that is testifying to her that this message was true.
Then we left....
With all of that
craziness and funny, weird, things that happen a miracle was given. That was
the first time that someone so innocent explain the spirit to me in words of an
adult. It was such a blessing to have this experience to see that our savior is
watching over us and blessing us when we need help. There was many more little
miracles but i don't have time right now.
