Aloha Family,
This has been a stellar week in the Life of
Elder Morgan Durocher!! So last P-Day after i emailed, we did an awesome
hike to a look out where you can see Waipio Valley. It was super beautiful.
This P-Day (Today) we got 2 trucks and drove into Waipio Valley, and then hiked
to a beautiful Waterfall!! We got to the Waterfall which was more of a Drizzle,
because their hasn't been much rain here lately, and this waterfall completely
depends on the rain. At the very top, Elder Seremai, twisted his knee and
dislocated his knee. His knee cap was on the side of his leg. Luckily one of
the sisters went to college and studied that, so she knew we needed to
straighten the leg out, as she pushed in, and that would relocate his knee, and
pop it back into place. Craziest thing i have ever seen!!! So Me and 4 other
Elders assisted him getting back off the mountain. He is probably 250 lbs, and
not very coordinated, so it was a big challenge. Instead of getting off the
mountain by 1pm like we would have, we got back to the cars at 4 because of the
slowness of our journey. We had to cross a few streams to get back to the car,
which made it even harder because the rocks were slippery. It was probably the
funnest hike i have done on my mission! I was standing under the waterfall, and
it was so relaxing and felt so good!
So we had some awesome lessons this week with some Investigators. First one was at church, a Non-Member lady came to church. She is the Girl Friend to a Less-Active Member of the Ward. So we met her at church, and during the Gospel Principles class, our teacher changed the lesson to teach the Restoration. It was a great lesson, she had lots of questions, and was very interested. She wants to learn more and so were gonna try to meet with her this week. She is gonna come back to church this coming week.
So at Church we taught the Sunbeams, with the Help of 2 more Sister Missionaries, Sister Lebaron, and Tuimoala. We had a Christmas theme, and so we started by getting to know everyone in the class. Then we talked about birthdays, and then Jesus Birthday and how that was Christmas. Then we gave them a fun coloring activity, where they colored in a Nativity Scene. We talked about everyone that was there when Jesus was born. Then we gave them a maze, and told them that they were Mary & Joseph, and they had to find a place to had to get to the Manger. Then we helped all the kids to Make Paper chain links, as a count down until Christmas. So they made paper chains with 17 links, and will rip one link off every day til Christmas. Oh My Goodness it was so much fun teaching that class! 5 year old kids are so cute! and Innocent and lovable!
Saturday we did Service for a non Member guy, we hauled Mulch into his Garden Beds for about 3 hours. He has a huge yard, with huge flower beds, so we filled up the wheel barrow or huge garbage cans with mulch and hauled it over and dumped it, and then someone else spread the Mulch around. My hand got a huge Quarter Sized Blister in the palm of my hand from the back end of the shovel. My hands have gotten so soft and weak on my mission!! All my callas' are gone! I cant even shovel now without getting Blisters! We don't get to do that much service, so i don't do a whole lot of physical labor. But that's okay because right now on my mission i am helping people spiritually! and Feeding their Soul Food! After the Service we had an awesome Barbeque and talked with them for a while.
