Dear Family,
So we had an awesome week here in Hawaii. On Saturday
morning we helped a member, Bro Kuikahi, with some service. For about 4 hours
we decorated his Dump Truck with Christmas lights, ribbons, streamers, and
everything else Christmas! He was gonna be in a parade, that everyone decorates
their trucks. IT was super fun, and we got to know the member a lot better.
That night we got to see him in the Parade, along with the other trucks. His
was one of the best ones in the Parade.
We had dinner with the Willis family. They are a little bit
Less-Active, and like the coolest family ever!! They moved from Rigby, Idaho
about 3 years ago. She was doing Scuba Diving Underwater Search and
Rescue. She told us about a young boy who drowned maybe 7 years ago at the lake
in Blackfoot Idaho. She was in the water for 4 hours searching for him and
finally found the body. She told us lots of crazy stories of rescues and
retrieving bodies, about finding murder weapons, and suicides and
everything else. She has crazy career! Now she is a Tour Guide Dive
Instructor here in Hawaii.
Sunday we had a non member come to church with a friend of
his. His name is Jeffrey and he is from Ireland. He moved to Hawaii a couple
months ago, and got a job working for this member in our ward. He came to
church and was very interested, and was very welcomed by the ward, which was
awesome. We are going to meet with him on Tuesday or Wednesday to leave a
message with him.
Tuesday our Zone helped do Service for a Member in Waimea.
They have a 300 Acre farm that's getting over run by a weed the Hawaiians call
"FireWeed." So for a few hours we helped pick the weed and put them
in trash bags. I felt like we only made a dent in the 300 Acres but the Members
were super grateful and fed us hamburgers after wards. It was super fun to be
out in the open country, and sweating, and working hard, and talking to every
body.
So this morning we picked up the keys to our new house. We
are going to be moving in today and tomorrow. So the Mission Office just
put $1500 onto my Debit Card to buy new stuff for the Apartment. We are
trying to get used stuff from Members, the things they don't need, then buy the
rest to furnish the apartment.
So I got some Good news!! We can either Skype or Call for
Christmas!! or Both!! So we will have to try to work that out. I think you
can do a 3 way Skype call or Facetime or whatever it is. So we need to figure
that out
