Durochers Ditally Dot: Morgan's 41 / 2013 letter & photos October 14,2013

Dear Ohana,

This was definitely a great week!

We had Transfers this last Wednesday. Me and Elder Jensen are staying together another transfer!! But we went to Transfers, because all of the Zone leaders on Oahu go every transfer meeting to welcome the new people coming to the zone. So President Warner calls all the Zone leaders up and we go stand next to the bench designated as our Zone. Then President Warner calls all the new companionship's that are going into each area, and then we welcome them, and then they come and sit down on our Bench labeled Waipahu Zone. It was super fun to see everyone that i have become friends with on my mission. And weird to see so many of the people i have served with Going Home. I was able to see Elder Talatau, my son (the person i trained), and be able to talk to him for a while and catch up. And it was really fun to see everyone from Laie Zone, all the missionaries were so close to each other.

So our Fist District Meeting together was super awesome. Me and Elder Jensen did the whole District Meeting. We wanted to do some activities to get to know each other, and to motivate the zone. First we told everyone they would be doing a prop skit thing. So we gave them a yard stick, hand towel, and hanger. And told them to act out a 30 second skit and then introduce themselves to the zone. So I got the Towel and tucked it into my belt to look like a loin cloth, then had the hanger and pretended to be an Indian shooting arrows at Elder Jensen, who had a Sword(yardstick) to defend himself, and we just had little battle. Each companionship did a funny little skit, i recorded them all on my video camera. So i might make a Zone Cd to show everyone at the end of the transfer, and have a slide show of pictures on it too. So then after that we had a game where they had to put on a white shirt and a tie while bouncing a balloon in the air, not letting it touch the ground. Then they had to do a hopscotch game. It was super fun, then we related that to Diligence, and Unity, and working together and everything. It was a super fun District Meeting, and super motivational.

So we went to visit our Investigators Tyreena, Destinie and Brandon on Thursday. Tyreena and Brandon are boyfriend-girlfriend and living together. So we have been praying for a miracle to happen so that they could be baptized. When we came over on Thursday Tyreena told us that they broke up, and that Brandon doesn't live here anymore. So even though its hard they broke up, its a miracle cuz now they can live the Law of Chastity. We were with the Sister Missionaries, Sister Toucher & Olsen, because they are helping us teach them. So we talked to them and had a lesson on the Law of Chastity. We had prayer, and then i shared a scripture that i love which is 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, to open the lesson.

19 What? know ye not that your ^abody is the ^btemple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your ^cown?

20 For ye are ^abought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

We talked about the importance of our Body, and how God gave us our body as a gift. We asked Tyreena and Destinie "why would God want us to not have children outside of Marriage?" Then Tyreena opened up and told us how she had 3 kids outside of marriage, and it has been super tough on her, and loves her children, but she wishes she had waited longer. We were able to Teach and Bear Testimony of the Law of Chastity, and how it has personally blessed us. It was seriously the most amazing lesson. I remember sharing that God gives us commandments to help us to be happy in the long run. Kind of like how a loving parent gives their kids simple rules like Eat your vegetables, or go to bed at 9pm. The little kid might think your just trying to be mean, or make them unhappy. But they don't really have that deeper understanding of why those simple rules are important. Gods commandments are kind of the same way, they are designed to make us happy inside and out, and for the long run. God wants us to be happy, and knows what will give us everlasting happiness and peace. This was definitely one of the most spiritual lessons i have ever had, and definitely the Best Law of Chastity lesson i have ever had! Did i ever tell you guys that I LOVE THE GOSPEL!!!!! :)

We had a lesson with Madreen on the Restoration. It was a good lesson. She asked us " so when i get baptized do i call my self Mormon? or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints??" Haha it was super funny, and such a simple sincere question! We asked if she would be baptized on October 19 2013, and she said "yes, as soon as I can., i am ready to get baptized. Then she told us that at General Conference she went to the restroom and started talking to a member in there. Then they started sharing some hard things they both had gone through. Then the Member told Madreen to make sure she keeps her faith strong! and That when she was baptized all of her struggles went away, and said if Madreen gets baptized it will help her a lot! Members really do make a huge role in peoples investigators conversion to the gospel!!

So Sunday Morning we headed off to Waipahu to visit our Investigators. Memory and Nana were ready in their dresses to go to church. So Sister Williams came by and picked them up. Then we went to Madreen,Rocky and Oliver house. Rocky and Oliver are her 2 sons. They were coming too, and so they loaded up with Sister Williams. We had 5 Investigators inside one Astro Van!! It was the coolest thing ever to see a van full of Investigators coming to church. When we got to church we ended up having some more investigators that came by themselves. So we had 7 investigators at sacrament!! The most i have ever had on my mission! I was so excited that whole day because of that! Heavenly Father is blessing us so much!
